How befitting for our Inn’s name "The Serendipity Inn". At the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and a drive down our gravel drive you see Serendipity blue as the sky, birds joyfully feeding on our feeders, butterflies and dragonflies perched on the birdbath in the butterfly garden that welcomes you on your way to our front entry. You know instantly that you have arrived at a place where you will find peace and tranquility. Yes we are just a short drive to all the attractions that you come to Williamsburg to see. I was asked …” Are you worried that you are not on Bed & Breakfast row?” Hence walking distance to downtown Colonial Williamsburg like so many of the Bed & Breakfasts are. My reply was a most certain and astounding ” No.” Because I knew what Serendipity meant. Who would choose to come to stay here sacrificing convenience to walk out the door and across the street to William & Mary? The people that will come here are the ones that know what the definition of Serendipity is and that is finding wonderful valuable things by chance in a happy and most beneficial way....
We offer a place to get away from all the noise. Our breakfast room is not filled with tons of other guests impatiently waiting. Trying to hurry through their breakfast and rush off to catch the early tour. No, you will not find that here. What you will find here among our acreage are many common areas where you can enjoy conversation with other travelers and exchange stories over a gourmet breakfast. You will still make the tours they run all day. So after a long day visiting our many attractions know that you can come back to a peaceful retreat where you can soak in a state of the art hydrotherapy tub, relax by the fire pit. Along with all this beauty and sounds of Nature at it’s finest you will be pampered in Luxury from your spa en-suite baths with Turkish towels and towel warmers, Gilchrist & Soames spa toiletries, and robes as you slip under the sateen Abbey sheets and goose down duvets. Awake to the smell of fresh baked amaretto muffins served with my famous Blueberry Grand Marnia or Mixed Berry Chambord preserves. I promise you breakfast will always be not only gourmet but plentiful as a past guest will attest to. Serendipity close to all that you came here to see yet a world away in its own right. Are you ready to find the most wonderful valuable things by chance in a happy and highly beneficial way?
We invite you to come to enjoy our beautiful park setting of pastoral beauty surrounded by over 20+ Acres of dense hardwood canopies that provide beauty, serenity, tranquility and more importantly a very important part of our Virginian History of the Chesapeake Bay. A short drive from our Inn you can visit the York River State Park and learn all about the importance of these woodlands. The woodlands that help protect our watersheds and their role in our clean water supplies, so severely altered the Chesapeake Bay Act was put into effect by Congress in 1988 to help protect these valuable Estuaries Part of the United States largest Estuary that expands 6 states sits on our property. Many of these Estuaries now lay in the hands of private landowners as cities grow and expand what remains in small patches of woodlands is dwindling. We take our role to protect the Estuary seriously as we know what wonderful things it brings to our waters, the air we breathe and it’s a sanctuary for wildlife to find refuge. Our property is home to almost every type of bird species you will find here in Virginia including Southern Migratory birds stopping off for a safe place to rest and replenish. At York River State Park you will see the waterfowl, we do not get here, as well as learn about the History of our watersheds. Enjoy a walk to the creek but respect the banks as we don’t want to cause any unnatural erosion. Let the creek do its part and enjoy its beauty, look for the natural wildlife that calls this home and enjoy sighting the many fossils in the creek such as the Chesapecten fossil that lies in our creek bed. We also offer twice a month bookings for a sunset kayak or canoe paddle at York River State Park " Friday evenings only ". It is offered to our guest under packages for the specific dates set by the Park Ranger. This trip is also offered to the public not staying at Serendipity but has been arranged specifically for our outdoor adventure guests. We will also put up a calendar of bird watching tours arranged by The Williamsburg Bird Club. As we get many visitors who love bird watching and enjoy the many active feeders on the property from their Suite windows or the lovely screened in porch. Binoculars and bird guides are always available for guest use.

Understand we accommodate not only a gourmet breakfast but provide firewood for the fire pit, S’mores, ” weather permitting ” as well as costs to modify the state of the art hot tub to meet Health Department requirements as well as maintenance costs to run the hot tub. The property service fee is a maintenance fee for the spa that is a automatic charge of 3% per stay. Weather you intend to use the spa or not the maintenance must be consistent to avoid having to shut it down due to imbalance of chemistry. We don't want that to happen as most guest do use the spa and enjoy it very much.
We do not allow candle burning or incense burning in the rooms.
And please be aware we have a rescue cat on-premise if you have pet allergies. He does not stay in the guest suites ever but does come into the living area and screened in the deck when guests are not staying.
